- I swam competitive in the YMCA and USS programs from age 6 through High School. I also swam all 4 years while attending Morehead State University. I began coaching in 1993 year around for the Washington Township Rec Center, in Dayton, OH, primarily working with the 10 and under age group focusing on developing all four strokes. During my years at the Rec center I was lucky enough to have the team send me to Colorado for a USS Age Group Collage Swim class where Olympians train for swimming. I also became an ASCA Certified Level 3 Coach. In the summer of 2002 I went to Limassol, Cyprus and worked as a Scuba Instructor for the next 3 summers. Upon my return in the fall I started coaching for the Countryside YMCA Torpedoes in Lebanon, OH. I was the Assistant coach for the silver group (ages 9 & 10) and helped out with the Senior Group. We were 7th in the nation at that time. I also coached the Lebanon High School swim team for two seasons. After getting married in 2004, my husband led us to Jacksonville, Florida the following year. In 2006, we started our family and I continued my professional career. We have three children Keira, Kegan, and Keely. They have all swam for OTST for several years now. I am so excited to get back into coaching swimming. We will heavily stress stroke mechanics and technique while still having fun.
